CITY PHOTOS

It's probably not surprising that, as a city planner, I tend to find much of the inspiration for photographs in the city, particularly in the city of Cleveland.  My favorite city photos are those that show images that are often overlooked, rather than the most often photographed images of skyscrapers, sports facilities and other landmarks.  Here is a sampling of some of my favorites

ABSTRACT REALITY/ ACCIDENTAL ART

When I would go out on a photo shoot, intending to capture images of iconic buildings or vibrant street scenes, I often found myself drawn to images that could easily be overlooked but, upon closer inspection, seemed to have taken on an aesthetic quality that may not have been intended by any architect or other designer.  I began thinking of these images as "accidental art" or "abstract reality."  Here is a sampling of some of my favorites.
